It is such a true blessing to be a Family Photographer in Joshua Tree. I get families from all over who come to visit the park and decide to capture their time here by having a quick little family session. Which means I meet so many people from all over the country and, sometimes, from all over the world.

When Katie reached out and asked me to be her Family Photographer in Joshua Tree, I was super excited! Not only because I absolutely love being apart of capturing people’s family memories, but also because she asked if it would be okay to include their pup! I am a big dog lover, having 3 myself, so I love when families want to include them in their sessions.

Sometimes, as a Joshua Tree Family Photographer, I have the absolute pleasure of photographing another photographer and their family. These sessions are always so special to me (as are all my sessions) because I know that other photographers have many, many connections. So when they choose me, specifically, to capture their family’s memories, it is very humbling.

New families. New babies. I just love being a Joshua Tree Family Photographer!
I loved getting to meet sweet little Leah and her parents October of 2018. They dressed her up to the nines (and themselves as well). They showed up looking so nice and classy for their family session. That’s another thing I love about families! They’re all different. They all have their own vision of how they want their memories captured. And I love being apart of every single one of them.
Leah was just a little over 5 months old when we did this session. Her blue eyes, chubby cheeks and red dress melted my heart from the moment I saw her. I think capturing these memories throughout your children’s lives is so important. I know I personally love looking at photos of myself and my parents (and all of my family, honestly). It’s fun to see how much things change, and how much stays the same throughout the years.

Hester Family | Twentynine Palms Family Photographer
I had the privilege of meeting the Hester Family when they won a giveaway I had partnered up with our local church for. As a Twentynine Palms Family Photographer I see a lot of military families. This little family had just been reunited from a recent deployment when we finally scheduled their session.
I loved getting to run around with their daughter, Remi. She is a total daddy’s girl but she loves her mamma something fierce too. Getting to see this little family reconnect, and being able to capture these moments was so special to me. I was so happy that the session I had donated went to a family that had been apart for 6 months prior. Being a military wife myself I know just how hard that separation can be. Even more so when littles are involved.
Remi had so much fun running around and playing and being chased and tossed in the air by dad. It was such a joy to see her face light up. Who can deny that sweet little smirk she gives.

Family fun! That’s what being a Joshua Tree Family Photographer is all about. I love watching the families I get to photograph interact and just enjoy one another. Letting a family just be themselves always reveals such treasures.

Sometimes, as a Joshua Tree Family Photographer, I get a little bit behind schedule with my blogging (oops). For example…. it’s been a year since I had the pleasure of photographing one of my favorite families around. The military has a wonderful way of bringing people together, then separating them, and then sometimes… bringing them back together.

As a Twentynine Palms Family Photographer, I have the pleasure of meeting other photographers in the area. I met Danielle through our Christian Women’s Fellowship community last year. I then had the pleasure of capturing their family photos not too long before they were getting ready to move and change duty stations.

When Laura first reached out about a possible Family Session in Joshua Tree National Park, she mentioned that a fun fact about her family is that both her boys were named after their favorite National Parks in the country. Joshua, for Joshua Tree National Park, and Jacob after Jacobson Park. Their middle names also have location means to them as well. I loved learning that unique fact about this super fun family.
